Activision ONE of Activision’s latest works is a game adaptation of the feature film, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Since the movie had no story and the game follows the movie’s storyline, the game was almost doomed from the start. Revenge of the Fallen is fun to begin with, as you take your mechanical character for a spin after choosing whether you are good or evil, but this doesn’t last. The levels are all repetitive and boring; Transforming is difficult because you have to hold down the accelerator to do it, the combat system with its projectiles and melee is either unsatisfying or a complete mess and the AI is as sharp as a bowling ball. Some levels have time limits to make them more challenging, which was pointless. There are also some levels where you get to fly; this was ruined by the limit to how high you can go. Though it is better than the first game, crummy levels, terrible combat and enemies with the mentality of a spoon just doesn’t cut it for me. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen the Game (and the Movie) was a fail.
